Reports to an Aerodynamics Team Leader or their designee; it is located in Maranello or in a close town (Modena, Italy). Responsible for operating wind tunnel tests and supporting aerodynamicists in the data analysis.  Key focus on high quality, safe and efficient wind tunnel tests.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Operate the wind tunnel in rotating shifts, including nights and weekends.
  • Being available to join the wind tunnel tests, on a rota schema, during weekends.
  • Participate in wind tunnel testing, helping to coordinate some aspects for a successful test.
  • Troubleshoot software, hardware, and mechanical issues.
  • Configure and conduct experiments based on specifications.
  • Adjust software and test parameters.
  • Create documentation for wind tunnel tests analysis.
  • Support modelshop in the operations necessary to check and prepare the wind tunnel model before the wind tunnel session.
  • Participate to alternative tasks related to the overall wind tunnel model and parts preparation even if not directly linked to the development area assigned.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Aerodynamics Team Leader or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

Technical high school diploma in mechanical engineering (mechatronics, electronics, or a related field). Experience as an operator of complex systems is a plus.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Have a basic understanding of English Language.
  • Experience with test devices is advantageous.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Reliable and flexible attitude.
  • Capable to work independently or with a minimum supervision.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

 

Equipment and Applications:

  • Computer with Microsoft Office and engineering packages including but not limited to, wind tunnel, basic hand tools, fabrication tools.
  • Data Acquisition experience is helpful.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some, occasional domestic, international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
