Tire Technician

Following ACI Motorsport's success in winning the Pro-Am SRO GT4 in 2024 and their consistent performance in Porsche Carrera Cup North America (PCCNA), we are expanding programs and seeking the right candidates to fill key positions. This offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing and successful team in high-level motorsport, contributing to ongoing success and new challenges across multiple series.


Duties:

Tyre Operations Management:

  • Planning, scheduling, and managing tyre and wheel stock to ensure all required tyres are available, correctly prepared, and tracked for each event.

Tyre Fitment and Allocation:

  • Oversee the fitment of tyres onto race cars, ensuring that tyres are correctly allocated and documented at events.
  • Ensure proper tyre preparation, including temperature and pressure checks, tread assessment, and alignment with team strategies.

Equipment Responsibility:

  • Maintain responsibility for all tyre-related equipment (tyre changers, pressure gauges, etc.) and ensure that all tools are in optimal working condition.
  • Oversee maintenance and calibration of tyre equipment to prevent failure during critical race or test situations.

Main Point of Contact for Tyre Suppliers:

  • Serve as the primary liaison between the race team and tyre suppliers, coordinating deliveries, special requests, and ensuring that the team has the correct tyres for every track and race condition.

Interpersonal and Relationship Building Skills:

  • Demonstrate excellent interpersonal skills, capable of building strong relationships with team members, suppliers.
  • Present a professional image at all times, both within the team

Strong Analytical Approach:

  • Be highly analytical, with the ability to assess tyre data (e.g., wear patterns, temperatures, pressures) to optimize performance during races and tests.
  • Show meticulous attention to detail, ensuring that no aspect of tyre preparation or allocation is overlooked, which is critical for race performance and safety.

Willing to Travel:

  •  Be prepared to travel extensively to all tests and race events, ensuring that tyre operations are effectively managed on-site and adapted to specific event conditions.

Experience:
Have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in a tyre technician role within high-level motorsport series, such as:

  • Porsche Carrera Cup
  • SRO (GT4, GT3)
  • IMSA (International Motor Sports Association)

This role requires a candidate with strong organizational, technical, and communication skills, capable of working in a fast-paced and high-pressure racing environment. Extensive travel and collaboration with teams and suppliers make this a key position in ensuring optimal race performance.
