General Summary:

This position reports to the Director of Procurement or their designee; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for ensuring that quality assured parts are delivered from our external suppliers in a timely and conforming manner, working within the Supplier Quality Assurance team.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Responsible for ensuring that quality products and services are received from our suppliers, achieving the high standards required, and right first time.
  • Collaborate with procurement and technical in the supplier selection process to make sure supplier’s capabilities and capacity match the quality standards required by Haas.
  • Accountable for the on-boarding of new suppliers ensuring that their processes, procedures, and quality management systems are fit for purpose.
  • Carry out supplier visits and audits and develop supplier relationships to drive process improvements and technical capability to manufacture to our requirements.
  • Ownership of supplier quality issues raised via the Faults process, attending and actively contributing to the Faults Meeting, solving all supplier related faults and supporting fault closure and rectification in all areas of the business.
  • Influence other key stakeholders (for example aerodynamics, design office, procurement, planning, internal operations) to capture information and improve supplier quality.
  • Own and drive integrated quality improvement plans where required for components and/or suppliers. Ensure progress against these plans is visible across departments and to senior management.
  • Jointly accountable for the maintenance and upkeep of the Haas F1 Quality Management system in conjunction with procurement to define clear and concise supplier quality requirements.
  • Accountable for ensuring the proper utilization and development of the nonconformance reporting (NCR) and concessions process.
  • Manage live quality issues in a methodical 8D style processing system and ensure efficient closure of any issues.
  • Feedback to race team, design and engineering when Quality issues occur to ensure best practice design for manufacture is being utilised, developing and implementing controls and improvements.
  • Monitoring Inspecting and testing of materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met.
  • Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues, developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements.
  • Monitor and analyse quality performance, providing an Executive Summary of the supply chain performance using KPIs such as TQS, RFT, etc.
  • Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assumes any responsibilities and duties delegated by the Director of Purchasing or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Member or Associate member of a Chartered Institute
  • Honours Degree in an Engineering subject or equivalent experience
  • 5 Years minimum in a Quality role within an equivalent fast paced parts manufacturing environment.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communication skills, written and verbal.
  • Experience working in a fast paced, technically advanced environment.
  • Strong understanding of composite, metallic and Additive manufacture.
  • Ability to deal with multiple suppliers and commodities, coordinating deliveries to meet program requirements.
  • Education or specialism in Carbon Composite part manufacture.
  • Strong understanding and ability to utilize Quality tools such as 8D, 5 Why, FMEA
  • Proven track record in New Product Introductions and Problem Solving
  • Track record of building relationships with new suppliers from supplier selection to delivery.
  • Must be self-driven and motivated.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong ability to read and understand Metrology, GD&T and Measurement reports
  • Excellent project management skills.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in stressful and time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • Work well within a team environment with personnel at all levels.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.
  • A can-do positive approach and a willingness to help others is essential.

 

Equipment and Applications:

  • Fully computer literate with experience of Microsoft Office Products and 3D CAD products.
  • Ability to interpret complex inspection reports to provide go/no-go decisions.
  • Previous experience in the application of inspection tools including CMM, FARO arms and hand tools.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
