There is an exciting opportunity to join our engineering team at Kiro Race Co. Following a recent change in ownership, a dynamic rebrand and a new partnership with Cupra, Kiro Race Co is making moves as it transitions from a manufacturer programme to a customer team harnessing a Porsche Powertrain. As part of this shift, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to play a key leadership role in driving engineering standards, supporting fault resolution, and improving tools and processes in the team.
Responsibilities
- Lead the systems engineering function at events and in the factory, setting standards for quality, safety, and performance.
- Mentor and guide the other systems engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
- Ensure the full health, performance, and legality of all car electronic systems during each event
- Collaborate with senior technical stakeholders to drive improvements and maintain good inter departmental relations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for complex electrical/system-level issues across the garage.
- Serve as the High Voltage Lead for the whole team
- Ensure full compliance with Formula E technical and safety regulations.
- Support the Race Engineers with lifing and component tracking.
- Manage data logging configuration, acquisition, and real-time monitoring.
- Drive root cause investigations and follow-up actions from faults and reliability reviews.
- Take full ownership of the electrical systems of the Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator, ensuring it is correctly configured, maintained, and ready for all sessions.
Required Skills & Experience:
- Proven experience in a senior or lead systems engineering role within top-level motorsport (Formula E, F1, WEC, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of race car electronic systems, data acquisition, and telemetry.
- Hands-on experience operating a race car at track, including real-time diagnostics and fault resolution.
- High Voltage safety knowledge and experience.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to act quickly and effectively under pressure.
- A solid understanding of IT systems and intermediate networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, routing, firewalls)
Preferred:
- Experience working within Formula E and a good understanding of the series’ technical regulations.
- Familiarity with High Voltage Batteries and electric powertrain systems.
- Passion for continuous improvement, automation, and effective engineering workflows.
