Following a recent change in ownership, a dynamic rebrand and a new partnership with Cupra, Kiro Race Co is making moves as it transitions from a manufacturer programme to a customer team harnessing a Porsche Powertrain. As part of this shift, we are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to play a key leadership role in driving engineering standards, supporting fault resolution, and improving tools and processes in the team.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the systems engineering function at events and in the factory, setting standards for quality, safety, and performance.
  • Mentor and guide the other systems engineers, sharing knowledge and promoting best practices.
  • Ensure the full health, performance, and legality of all car electronic systems during each event
  • Collaborate with senior technical stakeholders to drive improvements and maintain good inter departmental relations.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for complex electrical/system-level issues across the garage.
  • Serve as the High Voltage Lead for the whole team
  • Ensure full compliance with Formula E technical and safety regulations.
  • Support the Race Engineers with lifing and component tracking.
  • Manage data logging configuration, acquisition, and real-time monitoring.
  • Drive root cause investigations and follow-up actions from faults and reliability reviews.
  • Take full ownership of the electrical systems of the Driver-in-the-Loop (DIL) simulator, ensuring it is correctly configured, maintained, and ready for all sessions.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Proven experience in a senior or lead systems engineering role within top-level motorsport (Formula E, F1, WEC, etc.)
  • Strong knowledge of race car electronic systems, data acquisition, and telemetry.
  • Hands-on experience operating a race car at track, including real-time diagnostics and fault resolution.
  • High Voltage safety knowledge and experience.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to act quickly and effectively under pressure.
  • A solid understanding of IT systems and intermediate networking concepts (e.g., IP addressing, routing, firewalls)

Preferred:

  • Experience working within Formula E and a good understanding of the series’ technical regulations.
  • Familiarity with High Voltage Batteries and electric powertrain systems.
  • Passion for continuous improvement, automation, and effective engineering workflows.
