RACE ENGINEER

Maserati MSG Racing seeks a Race Engineer to manage a race car, optimize setup, analyze data, and support the driver. Requires 3+ years in FE/F1/WEC, expertise in vehicle dynamics, Wintax, MATLAB, and strong communication skills. Monaco-based, extensive travel.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

• Responsible for one of the team's race car at the event.
• You will assure an effective communication with the driver, engineers and mechanics.
• In this role you will oversee vehicle set-up, run plan optimization and direct interaction with the driver.
• Organize and perform all pre-event preparation work.
• Maintaining the vehicle set-up database and determining the starting set-up.
• Preparation of a week-end timetable, test item lists, and job lists.
• You will work effectively with controls, performance, tyre and strategy engineers as well as factory-based engineers.
• Ensure legality of the car at race event.
• Use simulation tools before and during the event to maximize performance.
• Perform post-event data analysis and comprehensive post-event reporting.
• Create analysis tools and techniques to understand and develop car performance.
• Develop, document and apply best practices for legal, safe and reliable car operation.
• Organize and attend relevant rig tests providing engineering support.
• Support and assist the team during the DEV sessions with performance analysis and writing reports.

PROFILE

• Master’s degree in mechanical, automotive related engineering discipline
• Previous race engineering experience in FE/F1/WEC – minimum of 3 years
• Excellent knowledge of vehicle dynamic, tires, control system
• Proficient with data analysis, previous experience of Wintax is an advantage
• Knowledge of analysis and simulation software and previous experience with Matlab is appreciated
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
• Good understanding of lap time simulation tools and Driver in the Loop environments
• Fluent in English, notion in French is an advantage
