We are racing in GTWC, ICGT, Macau, and development of racing cars for a manufacturer in GT3 and GT4 and require a Senior and Junior Race Engineer.

 

Key Responsibilities:
Race strategies and planning:

  • Race strategy: developing and implementing race strategies in close co-operation with the driver and the technical team.
  • Race preparation: Analysing track conditions, vehicle data and weather forecasts to develop optimal race strategies.
  • Simulations and analyses: Perform simulations and data analyses to evaluate vehicle performance and race strategy.
  • Work with the engineering team to maximise the TEAMS result
  • Pre-event and pre-session preparations including car set-up, car plans etc.

Apply knowledge of rules and procedures:

  • Knowledge of rules and regulations: in-depth knowledge of the sporting and technical regulations of the respective events
  • Rule-compliant procedures: Ensuring that all race strategies and vehicle adaptations are carried out in accordance with motorsport rules and safety standards.
  • Knowledge of timelines and deadlines for official documents and vehicle equipment changes

Analysing and forwarding decisions:

  • Situation analysis: assessing and analysing unexpected situations or problems during race events.
  • Decision-making: Quick and well-founded decision-making in coordination with the team and race management.
  • Forwarding: Forwarding important decisions and information to relevant team members and external partners.

Technical support and vehicle set-up:

  • Vehicle tuning: adjustment of vehicle set-up and settings based on driver feedback and data analyses.
  • Performance optimisation: Implementation of technical modifications to improve vehicle performance.

Communication:

  • Holding pre/post event and pre/post session meetings with the drivers and engineers as well as detailed documentation of the meeting.
  • Close communication with the mechanics about the condition of the car, setup, tyres, race plans and more
  • Calm and clean radio communication with the team and drivers even in stressful situations

 

Professional requirements

  • Ideally a degree in engineering or a related discipline.
  • Technical, mechanical and electronic knowledge of the cars
  • Experience in motorsport
  • Experience as a Race Engineer
  • Proven ability to negotiate independently and assist in developing strategies for large and complex projects.
  • Ability to engage constructively and communicate persuasively at all levels, internally and externally.
  • The role is at times very labour intensive, requiring the ability to multi-task and manage time effectively.

Essential:

  • The ability to work to tight deadlines, prioritise and be methodical in your approach is essential.
  • The position requires extensive travelling at home and abroad and a willingness to work long and flexible hours, including weekends.
