About the Role

An exciting new role has become available for a Performance and Simulation Engineer within the Vehicle Customer Performance Group.

As a Performance and Simulation Engineer you will need to work collaboratively within the Vehicle Customer Performance Group and Design Office and with external customers, to support vehicle design, identify performance limitations and opportunities, whilst utilising and contributing to the advancement of existing analysis and simulation technologies.

 

As our Performance and Simulation Engineer your responsibilities will include:

  • To propose and develop new vehicle performance concepts and support the design of high-performance customer vehicles.
  • To support customers using the appropriate simulation tools – Driver in Loop and offline simulations.
  • To develop hi-fidelity vehicle models, in-line with the customer simulation strategy, to continually improve the simulation capabilities.
  • To contribute to the continuous development of the simulation and modelling tools – Driver in Loop and offline simulations - advancing the customer’s ability to identify and develop holistic vehicle performance.
  • To improve and develop new methodologies for performance analysis to support objective technical decision making.

 

To be successful you will have:

  • Strong academic background, with a Mechanical, Aeronautical Engineering Degree (2:1 minimum grade) or similar.
  • Experience with simulation and vehicle dynamics in Formula One or another top-level motorsport category.
  • Appreciation of vehicle dynamics theory, efficient modelling & coding practices.
  • Experience using Matlab; experience with multi-body software, (Dymola as an example) will be a plus.
  • Ability to work effectively in small, focused teams towards tight deadlines.
  • Highly motivated self-starter with excellent communication skills.
