Mahindra Racing

Mahindra Racing is a motor racing team based in Banbury, United Kingdom, competing with an Indian racing licence. The team is currently competing in the electric FIA Formula E Championship since the inaugural season in 2014

 

Role Overview:
This position reports to the Programme Manager or their designee in Banbury, UK. Responsible for parts management, including quality and lifing, working cross functionally to ensure part availability, quality and traceability.


Main Responsibilities:
· Parts Management – Taking ownership of parts throughout their lifecycle, for both current and future cars. This includes planning & allocation to ensure optimal use of the parts and highlighting any shortages. Alongside the Chief Mechanic you will ensure parts are serviced in line with their requirements and resource availability.
· Part Lifing – Ensuring required components are lifed, both at the factory and working with the race team to ensure parts received at trackside are correctly recorded. Ensuring race and test mileage is applied promptly to all parts.
· Part Quality Management – Carrying out inspection of components to ensure compliance with the part drawings and suitability for assembly. Liaising with suppliers on any quality issues to ensure rectification in timely manner.
· Procedure Management – Create new procedures and processes in line with the role’s responsibilities as well as updating any existing procedures as necessary.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:
Essential:

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
  • Sound understanding of race car components and assemblies.
  • Ability to work as part of a team as well as the drive and initiative to work independently whenrequired.


Desirable:

  • Experience in a similar role in Formula 1, Formula E or other high level motor racing.
  • Experience in the use of LifeCheck or other component lifing systems is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of logistics and shipping of part nationally and internationally.
