Based at the workshop, the role will be ensuring the car is prepared to the standards set out by the Chief Mechanic and engineering team. On-event, the role will be responsible for the car leaving the garage prepared to a high level, ensuring safety, performance and reliability.
Reporting to the Chief Mechanic, main responsibilities include but are not limited to;
- Ensuring the car is prepared to a high standard
- Keeping an accurate log of setup and set down information, to be shared with the Race Engineer
- Rebuilding and maintaining sub-assemblies to a high standard (gearbox, differential, uprights, dampers etc.)
- Ensuring spare parts are prepared, pre-fitted, stock checked and safely stored
- Creation of job lists for the car post event
- Monitor spares usage and new parts fitted to race car at the circuit, to ensure that each car can be costed/invoiced accurately
- Maintaining paperwork relating to vehicle in order to establish good working practices and accountability
- Maintain a positive working attitude
