No 2 Mechanic / Subassembly Technician

One Motorsport

One Motorsport is a Touring and GT race team based in Brackley, Northamptonshire. Having won the BTCC independent Teams and Drivers trophy multiple times, we pride ourselves on the continued development and success of the team.

 

We are looking for full time No. 2 Mechanics to work track side and in subassembly at the workshop in Brackley on the BTCC programme. The successful candidates will ensure cars, spares and equipment are prepared to a high standard and within the time frames set out as directed by the Team Manager, Engineers and No.1 Mechanics. Working in a busy environment, this requires a highly driven person with excellent attention to detail, where organisation and multi-tasking will be essential in a high-pressure environment.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Build, maintain and service car subassembly components to a high standard.
  • Work from supplied job lists covering car build and preparation.
  • Assist No.1 Mechanics with the building of cars.
  • Perform pit stops.
  • Have a basic understanding of chassis set up procedures.
  • Dealing with tight timelines during the track events, and factory build
  • Attend and support all race and test events for the given championship.
  • Assist with garage build and pack up at races.
  • Assist with the maintenance of equipment to keep them functioning correctly.
  • To maintain a clean and tidy working environment whilst in the factory and at circuit.
  • Assist with equipment loading for race and test events.

 

Qualifications, skills and experience required:

Essential:

  • Previous Motorsport experience.
  • Good vehicle mechanical understanding.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Work unsupervised if required.
  • Be a good team player with a positive attitude.
  • Have high attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge and understanding of chassis set-up.
  • Be presentable and well-organized.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Hold a full driving license with UK entitlements.

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role.
  • Able to read and understand technical drawings.
  • Competent IT skills including MS Office.
