Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.


We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. General Summary:

This position reports to the Indirect Procurement Manager; is located in Banbury, UK. Responsible for sourcing and delivering goods and services to support various operational departments, including IT, Facilities, Marketing, Logistics, and HR. This role requires an experienced procurement professional capable of independently leading negotiations on pricing, terms, and lead-time, while ensuring best practices are consistently followed.

 

General Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop trustworthy relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Manage the procurement of indirect goods and services to support team operations, ensuring delivery, cost, and quality targets are met.
  • Lead the negotiation of commercial terms and conditions for products and services.
  • Operate within budgets and achieve agreed procurement cost saving targets.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Other duties as assigned by Indirect Procurement Manager or their designee.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute strategies for indirect equipment procurement.
  • Achieve operational targets and key performance indicators for indirect products and services under tight time constraints.
  • Lead contract negotiations with external vendors for indirect products and services.
  • Compile agreements with external partners for internal review and ensure adherence by both parties.
  • Analyze cost, quality, lead time and supply risk to identify opportunities for improve supply.
  • Collaborate with relevant departments to ensure effective sourcing strategies.
  • Contribute to the development of purchasing guidelines, policies, and procedures, challenging cost, quality, and lead time.
  • Sourcing value for money, quality suppliers, and securing commercially appropriate quotations; negotiating pricing and payment terms.  
  • Processing requisitions and raising purchase orders and updating the wider team on the status of orders.
  • Experience to foresee potential quality and delivery risks, with the knowledge to implement corrective actions.
  • Building effective and beneficial relationships with suppliers
  • Responsible for the operational execution of all elements in the procure to pay cycle.
  • Confidence to feedback any changes which could reduce the cost and/or improve the quality of supply without negatively effecting the function of the good or service.

 

Education and Work Experience:  

  • Proven ability to negotiate terms and conditions independently, with the knowledge of when to seek legal advice.
  • Bachelor’s degree or other professional qualification; and/or significant experience in complex and fast paced Procurement environments.
  • Successful track record of negotiations, developing effective tendering and contracting processes, requiring knowledge of complex stakeholders and market conditions.
  • Experience of working in an international environment.
  • Experience in the motorsports industry would be advantageous, but not essential. 

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:  

  • Able to strategically manage a category or categories whilst being able to deliver tactical solutions.
  • Strong commercial and financial acumen with a natural ability to recognize effective deals.
  • Ability to interact, engage, and influence key internal stakeholders to ensure the best business outcomes; whilst building credibility across all departments at all levels.
  • Work to a consistently high standard in time sensitive situations.
  • Quick decision-making skills whilst working through problems in a scientific and analytical way.
  • A sympathetic approach to your work colleagues and an ability to integrate within a group environment.

 

Equipment and Applications: 

  • Proficient with industry standard ERP Systems.
  • Proficient in software applications such as Power BI, Microsoft Office, Teams, SharePoint.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require some occasional domestic and international travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast- paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
