There is an exciting opportunity to join the newly restructured technical leadership team at Kiro Race Co. Following a recent change in ownership, a dynamic rebrand and a new partnership with Cupra, Kiro Race Co is making moves as it transitions from a manufacturer programme to a customer team harnessing a Porsche Powertrain. As part of this shift, we are reorganising our engineering departments and are seeking Head of Performance to lead our performance group in this new chapter of the team.
Position Overview
As Head of Performance, you will play a critical role in driving Kiro’s long-term performance strategy, focusing on tool development and advanced methodologies that enhance vehicle and team efficiencies and race performance. This role offers the chance to shape the future of Kiro Race Co, supporting our commitment to competitive, data-driven electric racing.
Key Responsibilities
- Performance Optimisation: Lead efforts to analyse, evaluate, and enhance vehicle performance factors, from energy management, chassis dynamics, tyre optimisation and everything in between.
- Team Leadership: Oversee and mentor the vehicle performance group, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.
- Data Analysis & Strategy: Use advanced data analytics to optimise car setup, race strategies, and overall vehicle performance in real-time and across the season.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with race engineers and other technical teams to ensure alignment on performance goals.
- Technical Innovation: Drive research into emerging technologies and techniques.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Physics, or a related field.
- 5+ years in motorsport or high-performance engineering, with a focus on performance optimisation.
- Strong understanding of data analytics, vehicle dynamics, and energy management in electric vehicles.
- Proven team leadership with a collaborative approach to working with drivers and technical teams.
- A passion for motorsport and innovation in sustainable racing technology.
