The first American Formula 1 team to compete in the sport since 1986, MoneyGram Haas F1 Team made an immediate impression with a memorable points-scoring debut at the 2016 Australian Grand Prix. Nine years later, and the team continues to demonstrate growth and a clear direction with its future objectives – coming off the back of its second-best season to-date in Formula 1.


We’re a racing team – not a corporate machine. We have three HQs – Kannapolis in the US, Banbury in the UK and Maranello in Italy – each powered by passionate, loyal and hardworking team ambassadors. General Summary:

This position reports to the Creative Services Manager or their designee and is located in Banbury, UK. This is an onsite role supporting in the creation and development of all team livery designs and core brand assets, whilst simultaneously supporting with all ongoing creative design projects and the overall development of the MoneyGram Haas F1 Team brand.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Promote teamwork and effective communications to develop working relationships between all personnel and departments.
  • Create outstanding visuals and designs that inspire and captivate.
  • Support the wider creative team with ongoing graphic design projects and collaborating with marketing colleagues and external suppliers on projects as necessary.
  • Produce a wide range of marketing assets that consistently meet business objectives and support the wider brand strategy, including assets for partnership activations, CRM campaigns and all additional communication outlets.
  • Develop and maintain branding guidelines, acting as a brand ambassador with the ability to translate core team values into compelling, instantly recognizable designs.
  • Livery design including 3D visualizations across race car, team apparel, trucks, motorhome, garages, hospitality suites, etc.
  • Race week deliverables including livery reference documents, trackside communications assets and hospitality support.
  • Creating stunning sales presentations, contract graphics and broader assets to support wider commercial initiatives.
  • Service external stakeholders on collaborative sponsor-specific projects.
  • Media and communications support including design templates for PR, cutting-edge digital content and design for social media.
  • Design for video, such as lower thirds and broadcasting animation assets.
  • Assist with website management, providing design support and updates as required.
  • Follow all safety regulations in all venues.
  • Assume any additional responsibilities assigned by the Creative Services Manager or their designee.

 

Education and Work Experience:

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience within relevant industry.
  • Certificate, degree, or bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Proven experience as a graphic designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing a range of design projects/disciplines.
  • Prior experience in sports design is desired but not required.

 

Specialized Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong communications skills, written and verbal.
  • Knowledge of 3D surface and solid modelling, texturing, lighting and UV Mapping/unwrapping.
  • Image retouching and photo manipulation.
  • Strong grasp of layout design and design best practices.
  • Understanding of brand, visual communication techniques including logo/identity design.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of print, venue dressing and large format design.
  • An all-in attitude, someone that enjoys going the extra mile to ensure creative excellence.
  • Creative thinker with strong awareness of design trends; able to build and evolve concepts that are both visually appealing and commercially aware.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new methods, techniques and procedures.
  • Self-motivated individual with exceptional time management skills who plans and delivers with minimal direction.
  • Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with quick turnarounds and to tight deadlines.
  • An agile, multi-tasking approach, capable of working on multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with the ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong inter-personal and organizational skills.
  • Ability to solve problems quickly and calmly, often in highly pressured situations.

 

Equipment and Applications:

  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite specializing in Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign.
  • Keynote / Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Capable of working on both Apple/Mac and PC platforms.
  • Video editing experience using Adobe After Effects, Adobe Premiere Pro or Final Cut Pro is highly desirable.

 

Work Environment Physical Demands:

An ability to work and prioritize within a high pressure, time sensitive environment while retaining a methodical approach is essential. The role may require occasional domestic & international  travel and a willingness to work long and flexible hours including weekends.

 

This position may require lifting to 50 pounds, repeated bending, squatting and manual dexterity. Fast-paced work environment requiring heavy mental demands. Work environment includes machinery, race cars, 7-post and other rigs, grinding debris, and hazardous fluids. All employees must ensure compliance with the Company Health and Safety Policy, and all relevant other statutory Health and Safety legislation.
