Role Summary

We’re seeking a highly adaptable and collaborative freight and logistic professional who thrives in complexity and is energised by change. In this role, you'll need to confidently navigate ambiguity and an ever-evolving landscape, applying strategic thinking and flexibility to move projects forward. Success will require strong self-management, the ability to plan and execute with minimal direction, and a natural inclination to collaborate across teams

 

The successful candidate will primarily be responsible for:

  • Planning and executing the transportation of motorsport vehicles, equipment, and materials for events, ensuring timely arrivals and departures.
  • Collaborating with all departments within the team, to coordinate logistics of equipment for race weekends and testing sessions.
  • Manage relationships with freight carriers, customs brokers, and logistics service providers to negotiate rates and schedules.
  • Ensure compliance with global shipping regulations, including customs requirements for international transport e.g. ATA carnets & import/ export duties that must be paid.
  • Monitoring and tracking shipments, addressing any delays or challenges proactively.
  • Developing and implementing logistics strategies specific to the demands of motorsport events, focusing on efficiency and cost-effectiveness.
  • Working alongside the Transport department, maintaining good communication at all times to assist with upkeep of equipment.
  • Creating efficient load plans on dedicated software, prioritising the needs of the race team for the next event or workshop needs.
  • Liaising with Chief Mechanic/Parts department to organise parts orders and equipment being purchased outside the UK – Complying with correct Import regulations alongside the Freight carrier to ensure all parts/ equipment delivered in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with container/airfreight loading and unloading.
  • Tracking and managing budget allocation.

 

Knowledge & Skills required:

  • 3 years of experience in freight/logistics, with a preference for experience in motorsport or a similar high-pressure environment.
  • Proficient in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Willingness to travel internationally and work flexible hours during race events.
  • Full driving license

Working Conditions:

This role requires extensive Worldwide travel, some weekend work, and the ability to handle physically demanding tasks related to race setups and breakdowns.
