Established in 2021, Pegasus Classic Engineering specialises in the restoration, preparation, and operation of historic racing cars from the 1950’s to present day. We provide a comprehensive range of services to our clients, ensuring meticulous care from start to finish.

Located in Lutterworth, Leicestershire, just five minutes from M1 Junction 20, our modern fully equipped facilities enable us to perform all aspects of mechanical and bodywork restoration.

Our team boasts over 80 years of racing experience across various prestigious platforms, including Formula 1, Le Mans, and GT racing.

 

We are seeking candidates on a self-employed basis who strive for perfection and aspire to work in an environment where quality is paramount. The individual must be able to operate with a high level of detail and accuracy and have an enthusiasm for classic cars.

 

Your responsibilities will include –

  • Race Car preparation for events
  • Ground up rebuilds and restorations
  • Gearbox rebuilds
  • Fiberglass bodywork fitting
  • Attendance at Race meetings and Test days both in the UK and Europe

 

Who we are looking for –

  • At least 8 years of experience in a classic car restoration and race preparation environment.
  • Previous track side experience would be beneficial but not essential. 
  • A general knowledge of light fabrication and welding would be preferred, but not essential.
  • A perfectionist with a sharp eye for detail and a passion for classic cars. Good at hitting deadlines and targets, and able to follow detailed instructions.
  • Great communication skills, with a positive 'can-do' attitude, a strong work ethic, always on time, and organised.
  • Eagerness to learn new skills and enjoy working as part of a successful team.
  • Hold a Full UK Driving Licence, preferably with BE certification or willing to undertake training and qualification.

 

Working Hours: This role is a full-time position working Monday – Friday 8.30 - 5pm and overtime when required to meet the deadlines of the race events. Weekend work will be required for UK and European races.  

Salary: Negotiable dependent on experience.

All candidates must be able to live within a reasonable commuting distance of our premises in Lutterworth.
