Role Overview:
As an Electronic Design and Control Engineer at Mahindra Racing Formula E Team, you will play a pivotal role in the development and optimization of our cutting-edge electric race cars. Your expertise in electronic systems, control algorithms, and high-level electrical architecture will be crucial in ensuring our vehicles perform at their peak during races. You will be responsible for designing and implementing advanced electronic and control systems, developing wire harness architecture, and conducting rigorous testing and validation to meet the highest standards of performance and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Electronic System Design: Develop and design electronic systems and components for our Formula E race cars, including control units, sensors, and wiring harnesses.
- Control Systems Development: Design and implement control algorithms for vehicle dynamics, energy management, and powertrain control.
- High-Level Electrical and System Architecture: Develop and optimize high-level electrical and system architecture to ensure seamless integration and performance.
- Wire Harness Architecture: Design and develop wire harness architecture, ensuring reliability, efficiency, and compliance with safety standards.
- Simulation and Modelling: Create and validate models for electronic and control systems to predict performance and optimize designs.
- Testing and Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing and validation of electronic and control systems to ensure reliability and performance under race conditions.
- Data Analysis: Analyze data from electronic and control systems to identify performance improvements and implement necessary adjustments.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and aerodynamics engineers, to integrate electronic and control systems seamlessly into the car.
- Compliance: Ensure all electronic and control systems comply with FIA regulations and safety standards.
- Innovation: Stay abreast of the latest advancements in electronic design, control systems, and electric vehicle technology to drive innovation within the team.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electronic Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Control Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience: Proven experience in electronic design, control systems, high-level electrical and system architecture, and wire harness architecture, preferably within the motorsport or automotive industry.
- Skills: Proficiency in circuit design software (e.g., Altium Designer, OrCAD), control system design tools (e.g., MATLAB/Simulink), and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge: Understanding of electric vehicle systems, high-voltage safety, control algorithms, and FIA regulations.
- Team Player: Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
- Passion: A genuine passion for motorsport and sustainable technology.
